The Reason for a Lock Picking Guide
October 22nd, 2010 • Uncategorized • No Comments »Why create a site called Lock Picking Guide? I created this site because, I believe in security over the “sense of security”. When I was a boy about the age of 10, I used to lock up my bike every day. I used a common combination bike lock and felt very good about leaving my bike. I noticed that some other kids, didn’t even bother to lock their bikes. Even as a youngster I had problems keeping my opinions to myself. So I told them that they were pretty reckless to just leave their bikes unlocked. Imagine my surprise when one of them told me that I was risking more than they were. He explained that if someone took his bike, he would be out just his bike. I, on the other hand would lose my bike and my lock. I had locked my bike by running the cable through my front tire and the bike rack. He grabbed my front tire and quickly yanked it straight in the air. The built in combination lock had broken and little pieces of it were on the ground.
While no one can ever be truly secure, one should at least know the risks that one is taking. Only by knowing how “the bad guys” get around our attempts to keep them out, do we know what risks we are taking. With that spirit this website www.lockpicking-guide.com was born.
I plan to cover not only physical locks but attempts to keep people out of the “virtual world” we call the Internet. So welcome to your lockpicking guide. Please keep in mind that information is power. Knowing how to save a life is the same information one needs to take a life. All the information found within this site could be found elsewhere on the Internet. I am not responsible for how you use this information. However, I must give a word of warning. The perfect crime DOES NOT EXIST. Do NOT attempt to any illegal or questionable activities!
